Decking
We offer a variety of decking options for our pontoons. Timber, the traditional choice, is treated specifically for marine applications. Composite materials – made primarily from recycled plastics – have recently become a popular alternative for their enhanced durability and sustainability. These composites are formed into panels that replicate the size and thickness of timber while offering improved longevity.
Gangways
The gangway is an essential link between land and any floating structure, needing to accommodate tidal differences. Its rigid construction must balance the movement of the floating structure on one side and the fixed land base on the other.
SF Marina supplies gangways in galvanized steel and in aluminium, with lengths ranging from 4 to 30 metres and widths from 1.2 to 10 metres. Stability and usability are prioritised. A 4-metre gangway may function without railings, but longer gangways should include one or two rails, depending on local requirements. Custom designs are also available to meet specific project needs.
Mooring fingers
Mooring a boat between mooring fingers is the safest and most convenient option, enabling easy docking with minimal crew. SF Marina offers mooring fingers in galvanised steel, aluminium, or concrete, with lengths ranging from 4.5 to 20 metres. For larger yachts, walkable concrete fingers are recommended as the optimal solution..

Utilities
Modern marinas require a wide range of utilities available at every mooring berth. By designing pontoons with utilities in mind from the outset, SF Marina ensures efficient, visually appealing solutions. Proper utility distribution prioritises safety, ease of maintenance, and overall marina aesthetics.
Accessories
In the final design phase, it is essential to ensure all necessary fittings are integrated into the pontoon structure during casting. For instance, a 5-tonne cleat must be reinforced with stainless steel fittings to bear its full load. Fixtures for lampposts or other equipment are more durable when cast during production rather than added later.
By partnering with SF Marina, you benefit from decades of experience, ensuring your project meets the highest standards and delivers long-lasting performance.
Safety equipment
Safety is paramount on floating structures, where the risk of falling into the water is always present. Strategically placed safety equipment – such as ladders, hooks, and buoys – can significantly reduce risks. SF Marina assists in selecting and integrating safety measures into your design from the outset.
