Set along Kuwait’s coastline, the Kuwait National Guard Club Marina combines striking contemporary architecture with a state-of-the-art marine facility. Designed around the elliptical geometry of the site, the marina is characterised by two distinctive waterfront pavilions, conceived as “sea jewels”.

The full-service marina provides 146 berths for boats ranging from 8 to 36 metres in length and includes a slipway, lift-out dock, floating fuel pontoon and complete utility infrastructure. SF Marina UAE was appointed for the detailed design and supply of the floating pontoon system, based on the pile-anchored SF Type 1250 system with five-metre-wide main walkways and all-concrete finger pontoons.

Prior to fabrication, the flotation of each pontoon was individually modelled, taking into account additional loads from pile guides, gangways and other equipment. This allowed the pontoons to be delivered directly to site at the correct level, without the need for additional trimming. Shock-absorbing pile guides were also incorporated to reduce dynamic loads.

Combining advanced marine engineering with ambitious waterfront architecture, the Kuwait National Guard Club Marina has become a distinctive new landmark on Kuwait’s coast. In 2025, the project was recognised as Kuwait’s Leisure Project of the Year at the MEED Projects Awards.
