A private Red Sea enclave

On the Red Sea coast just outside Jeddah, Silver Sands Beach is an exclusive private seaside resort. The enclave lies some thirty minutes from central Jeddah, twenty minutes from King Abdulaziz International Airport. Soft white sand and unusually clear water define the shoreline. The shallow Red Sea lagoon has the turquoise waters more commonly associated with tropical island destinations, while water temperatures remain warm year-round, typically between 23 and 30 degrees Celsius. In winter, calmer conditions and clear skies combine with uninterrupted sunset views across the Red Sea. The resort is centred on 250 metres of protected beachfront. Villas and apartments are set within landscaped grounds that include pools, restaurants, a gym, and a small marina.

Partnering with SF Marina, Silver Sands has introduced a floating marina system engineered in response to the site’s wind and wave conditions. Completed in 2023, it comprises 15 dock units, including both concrete pontoons and floating breakwaters, secured with heavy chains and precast concrete mooring blocks. Together, these structures protect the harbour from prevailing wave directions, reduce wave energy within the basin, and create calm, sheltered berthing conditions. The layout accommodates around 30 pleasure craft, alongside dedicated space for jet-skis. Aluminium fingers and access gangways provide safe access, while power and water run through internal service ducts. Manufactured in Saudi Arabia, the system delivers exceptional stability, durability, and low maintenance. It marks the first implementation of a floating breakwater system in this part of Jeddah, and has since become a focal point for boating and waterside life at the resort.
