Known as the “Land of smiles” Thailand combines show-stopping cruising grounds with unrivalled hospitality. Ferry travel is common in Thailand and a large fleet of boats transport thousands of commuters and tourists between various islands and along Bangkok’s famous khlongs. Appropriately, SF Marina’s first installation in the country, the Surakul Pier in the Phang Nga Bay, north-east of Phuket, was a ferry-landing pontoon, built in 2018. From Surakul Pier longtail boats take thousands of tourists daily to explore the bay and visit the “James Bond Island”. The Surakul Pier was followed by 27 ferry-landing docks providing passengers easy access to the Khlong commuter boats running on Bangkok’s major canals.
